The Via Bocchette is one of the best via ferrata-routes in Europe and is regarded as an absolute classic of the Alps by experienced mountaineers. With it spectacular views and impressive dropdowns it gets often breathtaking on the climb to the summit. The four-day hut-to-hut traverse across the main Brenta range leads mostly above 3000 meters altitude along yawning chasms, jagged rock faces and long-long ladder systems at falling edges.

Even that this area of the Dolomites is well known for its unpredictable weather we were quite happy with mostly sun and no rain. The typical and well-known fog of the Brenta was often part of the stunning scenery. The Via Brochette is called the most fascinating and impressive “high route“ in the Dolomites and possibly of the Alps. It is much more about the spectacular views and breathtaking scenery than technical difficult climbing. Still, it often takes some challenge and overcoming to access the remote parts but it’s fully rewarded! Enjoy the movie, which gives a short impression of the Brochette experience. Please note that pictures are not in chronological order of the four-day tour.
