I left Koh Tao on the 3rd of January to head north to Bangkok. The 3 hour boat ride from Koh Tao to Chumphon was pretty rough as a storm was coming up and strong rain made the ride not very pleasant. Everybody on the boat was totally wet after 5 min because of the strong rain. But once you are wet anyway you don’t care really about it.  At Chumphon I had to change my clothes plus the way of  transportation to a bus up to Bangkok. I entered the city at 5.30am yesterday morning. Because I did not wanted to stay again in one of  the noisy guest houses close to Kao San road, I booked myself a nice room at the Lamphu Tree Hotel, 15 min away from Kao San road, beside a small river. Somehow my body cried out loud the need of  “some more” luxury accommodation and a big TV after 6 weeks of backpacking to enjoy the room and watch movies. It worked out great for one night but this morning the woman at the reception told me that because of a double booking I have to leave. So I had to pack my stuff again and got back on the streets of Bangkok to find a new but similar “luxury” accommodation for tonight. Luckily I found one not too far away – the Diamond House. It’s a very funny and funky place to stay. A mixture of a Chinese Temple with dark lush colors and chic furniture inside. The rooftop sunbathing deck and the outdoor Jacuzzi round up the package. I still had some hours today to see the Grand Palace, an tremendous Temple complex which also includes the former residence of the Thai monarch. A perfect choice to spent the afternoon.

This is the last stay of my journey before I have to go back to India tomorrow, where I just stay some hours at the airport before I fly back home. So I guess see you in “Good Old Germany” soon …
