Ras Sudr, a small village set at the scarce coast of the Red Sea and located on Ras Matarma bay in Egypt, close to the entrance of the Suez Canal, my home of a 10-day holiday I booked to do kite surfing. It actually is as remote as it was written in most of the travel reports of people who been here before. But that is what it maybe turns into such a nice little oasis at the coast of the Sinai dessert.
I came here for kite surfing and that’s all it is. I stay in a small resort close to the beach and next to the kite centre of “Club Nathalie Simon”, which is set up at one of the most amazing lagoons you will maybe find in Egypt. This place is known for it’s constant wind conditions and the shallow water of the lagoon. I could not say, “well known” as it is less busy as people would expect it to be by the conditions it offers. The Paradise Resort is a very lovely and well-organized place to stay. The staff is very warm hearted and funny like in most places of Egypt.
The kite centre is very professional and run by French people with different international instructors. As this is not one of the bigger tourist spots in Egypt, the beach is almost empty and there is lots of space available on the water. The kite center itself is very welcoming and relaxed – enjoyable to hang out the entire day. Not only because they have wireless Internet access and THAT IS for free!!!!!
