Just found this funny picture I took at a MotoGP shooting in Qatar. At the time Casey Stoner was the number one rider of the Marlboro Ducati Team and Nicky Hayden number 2. That picture was just taken after the official rider group picture when Valentino and Nicky had a quick talk. The overall impression seems quite tough but seriously they where talking about bikes. Funny that today they are team mates of the Ducati Marlboro Team and still seem to get along very well.

Read moreThings will change for the two Ducati riders this week. From the winter wonderland of Madonna Di Campiglio where they took part of the traditional Marlboro Press Conference "Wroom" to the heat of the International Circuit in Malaysia. The first 3 day test for the teams will start ton the 31st. The teams will debut their vehicles and let them touch the hot tarmac of the International Circuit. Sepang will be an interesting event as the bikes follow new concepts due to new regulations and bigger engines. Ducati had a quick test of the GP12 bike in Jerez but will also be on track first time with competitive bikes. I'm pretty sure the 2012 GP season will keep your interest on a high level as the new bikes come in with more power, new chassis and totally new set ups. So the question will be which team find's the best way to get the power straight onto the tarmac.

Read moreFor two weeks every year the eye of the motorsport world focus on the Isle Of Man for the legendary motorsport event - The Isle Of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) race. The finest and most challenging road racers on the planet pit their skills against the 37¾ miles of public roads that form the legendary TT circuit. There are not such things like gravel pits, crash barriers or emergency tracks or boulevards with a wide of 12m (see MotoGP). Mistakes are not accepted! The first Isle Of Man TT race was held in 1907 and during the period 1949–1976 an official stop of the FIM Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championship. Due to safety concerns the race was transferred to the United Kingdom. To preserve the event's racing status, the Isle Of Man TT race became part of the TT Formula 1 Championship during the period 1977–1990. Thank's to TheSmokyProduction for the amazing video production with some of the most impressive action shots I've seen over the year. Comments like "Porn for bikers ..." or "Gladiators of the modern age ..." on their YouTube channel describe best what it's about.

Unless outlined in competition documents, the typical Red Bull X-Fighters competition will be Freestyle only. In 2010, the organisers of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour wanted to push the event into the next dimension with a brand-new concept – and that is exactly what they have done! The Red Bull X-Fighters are set to debt in three new cities across the globe, with a brand new rider selection format replacing the traditional invitational system used up until now. The top six riders from last year’s World Tour – Nate Adams, Robbie Maddison, Eigo Sato, Mat Rebeaud, Dany Torres, Levi Sherwood – are qualified for the season opener. A further six riders, selected by the international Red Bull X-Fighter Jury after an application process, will battle it out for the remaining four spots in Mexico City, with two wild cards completing the starting field.
