DAV Siegen opened lately a climbing hall at Siegen center. Reason enough for Lola and myself to check it out and do some climbs at the new and almost untouched routes. The hall is placed inside a new building and offers many great routes, which are carefully set and well-thought-through. The hall also offers a second floor with routes for beginners. Overall it is a very friendly place to climb. Personally I’m very happy to have such great climbing hall close to my hometown Freudenberg, which gives me the chance to do some climbing when I come over to visit my parents.
Staying over the weekend in Happy Mountain (Freudenberg), we had great fun attending the 2015 Soap Box Derby. Organised by my friends Outdoor-Event Company “360°“and some local companies 17 teams challenged the parkour and presented their creative self build custom box cars. I was very impressed by the creativity and quality those little cars were build. The entire show, from the team presentation on stage until the final race, was perfectly set up and organised. A great fun for everybody. And everybody really means everybody. One of the 17 teams was a “refuge team” by 7 young refugee from different countries. The team was sponsor by the company “Bäumer“ from Freudenberg and was very welcome by each spectator. They welcomed the team big time, not only for the touching speech they gave. Hopefully there will be another soap box derby 2016.
Congratulation to the lovely couple! With a one week holiday we attended the wedding of my oldest friend at the beautiful island of Mallorca. Soon more to follow …
