“As it happens” is a wonderful documentary about two guys from “Camp4collective” on their expedition to summit Mount Lobuche (6119 m) in the Solu- Khumbu region of the Himalaya in Nepal. Their goal was not only to establish a technical new alpine climb but also to tell a story as it unfolded during the expedition. With digital SLR cameras, Solar panels and Laptops they filmed, edited and shared their adventure over different social networks in real time by using a Satelite modem.
Through my previous visits to Nepal, Kathmandu and also the Solu-Khumbu region of the Himalaya, I remember most of the places they show in the video. I’ve seen quite a lot of documentaries about Kathmandu and the Solu-Khumbu but I’ve never seen something more beautiful like this video. The pictures, the editing and the sound are just incredible.
